Today, Graphicly is proud to announce that we have acquired the Double Feature comics application for iOS, developed by Four Star Studios. In addition to the app acquisition, Joshua Emmons, the developer behind Double Feature has joined Team Graphicly. And it doesn’t stop there! The amazing genre comics featured in Double Feature, like Action Double Feature #1 will now be available across the Graphicly platform. That means the adventures of The Answer by Dennis Hopeless and Mike Norton and Jack Kracken by Tim Seeley and Ross Campbell will now be available for purchase on the Graphicly website and all the Graphicly apps.
This is an announcement that we’ve been excited about for a while. When we first saw the Double Feature application, we knew that Josh and the guys at Four Star Studios had developed something special. Developing a comics application that’s created by comic creators was very much in-line with our approach at Graphicly, as we work to create the best digital experience for comic readers and tools that make publishing comics digitally easy for creators. You can imagine how psyched we were when we started talking with Four Star Studios guys and saw that they shared many of our thoughts an opinions.
Joshua Emmons has already begun working at Graphicly, joining our development team and making our recent releases of comics on the Apple Newsstand a reality. If you’re a user of Double Feature and you’ve checked out The Walking Dead or Savage Dragon or any of the other titles available on the Newsstand, you can already see Joshua’s impact on our iOS products, and trust us, this is just the first taste of what’s to come from Graphicly and the iOS platform. You can expect to see some great things to come for the iPhone and iPad in the future!
The Double Feature application will continue to be available in the Apple iTunes App store, for fans of the platform and the comics published there. Graphicly users can also expect to see the titles from Four Star Studios available for purchase and enjoyment on any of our other apps and Graphicly.com.
Join us in welcoming Double Feature and Joshua Emmons to Graphicly and cheers to the exciting things to come!
