Prophet #21 is an all new beginning
The triumphant arrival of a brand new wednesday brings with it a treasure trove of new comics to read on Graphicly! This week, a little something for everybody. Roger Langridge’s Snarked! #3 is pitch perfect for all ages, while Seven Warriors #2 should sate the carnal yearnings of those surlier readers.
Today we’re particularly excited about Prophet #21 from Image. Don’t let the number fool you. This is the start of a new chapter in the adventures of John Prophet, Rip Van Winkle of Earth’s bleak future. As alien visitors feed on the devolved human populace, it’s up to Prophet to kick-start a revolution devised by the long-dead empire of man. Driven by instructions implanted in his dreams, he journey’s through a largely unfamiliar wilderness, battling fearsome mutants and beasts possessed by exotic parasites. He will eventually arrive in the organic city of Earth’s new sovereigns, a rotting behemoth nestled in the planet’s crust like a mouldering tick. Inside, a strange race of aliens and the next leg in his mission to win back his world.
It’s pretty messed up in all the right ways, and we can’t wait to see where the new team of Brandon Graham and Simon Roy take Prophet next.
